Fortunately left plenty of time to get lost on the way to the Tower.              Front row of the balcony. Sound was quite muddy for the first       song-and-a-half or so, but improved quickly. Is Roger mixing this       tour?              Keyboards remained murky, however. Soloists very tentative throughout.       Krantz got more solo time than Herrington and impressed. They       co-soloed on 'Third World Man,' certainly a highlight. 'Goodbye Look'       was great; that song's a bear to play, and there was much       furrowed-brow concentration.              2 horns, 2 backup singers, bare-bones light show.              'Mary Shut The Garden Door' was followed by 'I.G.Y.' in sort of a       'where did we go wrong' medley. I'm sure the juxtaposition was       intentional.              More Steely material than necessary. Where was 'Trans-Island Skyway'?       'Florida Room'? 'Confide in Me'? 'Raindrops'? This was a solo tour,       play the solo stuff, dude! Also missed 'Morph' - why not sell the new       album, that's a great song! And 'Brite Nitegown' would have torn it       up.              The Nightfly material killed, though. The Teagarden song was really       interesting if a bit blowsy; great soloing. Carlock - holy shit, what       can you say. Monster.              Who gets to sing the line about the shoes? You'll have to go and find       out for yourself.              Hope to catch him again this summer, or the Dan, or Mr. Steely       Whatever.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
