Patrick (hammer-on downhome whistlestop guitarist) Simmons is who I think
you're thinking of...and the Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers period is far
superior to all of that flag-waving, China Grove, Natural Thing nonsense.

As night has turned into day and then night again, I have rethought my
position about Michael McDonald on the bill with Steely Dan, however. That
crap last night I said about the wives now wanting to go with us because MM
is on the bill -- giving us middle-aged married guys a free pass to go see
SD with them now in tow -- might actually be a DRAG, come to think of it.

   Are you with me, Doctor?
