   In the dead of winter a year ago, a close friend of mine from Nashville and   
   I had reconnected in Montana one evening while we were both  there on   
   business.  He and I sat at the rail of one of those oak and brass downtown   
   bars and, together, contemplated our fate.   
      
   After a couple of pints of foreign ale (Bass, I think) we decided that it   
   was time to order something more interesting, more intoxicating, more --   
   well -- Dan-inspired.   
      
   So we came up with the Cuban Breeze and insisted, for the balance of the   
   night, of calling the lovely barkeep "Gretchen".  She played along because   
   we are gentlemen and fine tippers.
