From: c0f@intrex.net              A good friend of mine sent me *this* this morning.              db                                   Well, Deb and I went to see ole' B. last night. when I say old, I mean he       will be 81 this year. As you would expect he had an excellent band with him       with a complete horn section. One of which was named Riley King and his       nephew I believe he said. The band came out and played about 20 mins then       brought B.B. on. He sat down in his chair right up front and for the next       two hours proceeded to thoroughly entertain a packed house. This man is a       treasure folks. He has been out on the road and performing for 60 years       now,( his words by the way). Just think about that alone. His voice is still       strong and he is so at ease and SO entertaining to listen too. His playing       has slowed down some but he still has a lot of fire and that wonderful       vibrato that myself and so many other players spent untold hours trying to       steal. as a matter of fact I guess if it was not for him I would be hard       pressed to play anything with out his licks..haha. He is the last of a group       of players and artist that changed the face of music as we know it right up       till today. B.B. has influenced so many great guitar players it would be all       but impossible to list them all. The whole time you see this man perform you       are grinning from ear to ear. He is so at ease in front of the audience and       just makes it all look so simple. His stories, and his humor keep you       enthralled and laughing while his playing is still inspiring and one of a       kind. This man has played in 90 countries all over the world. His playing is       INSTANTLY recognizable and who worth their salt does NOT know who Lucille       is? While it is true as I said that he sat down the whole time, but folks ,       let me tell you. it did NOT keep him from shaking, ROCKING, and PLAYING. The       crowd loved him and was on it's feet a number of times through out the show.       I would urge all of you if you have a chance to take the time to go see this       man before he is gone. Once he is gone, there will NEVER be another like him       I assure you. Great show.       Alan H.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
