   It's not retarded, my friend. It's true... in some ways. Fortunately,   
   here on the west coast of florida... there are a ton of Steely fans.   
   When I went to the 2003 show, they did pack a fairly large stadium.   
   And all they had going was EMG, which didn't get half the publicity it   
   deserved. I do know for a fact that elsewhere, the turnout was kinda   
   sad.   
      
   Anyway, I hate to generalize, but I'm going to throw you folks a bone   
   here. I have found that (generally speaking) only "smart" people "get"   
   Steely Dan. And if you consider that (statistically speaking) half of   
   the population lies below an IQ of 100... that means there are plenty   
   of people that will just NEVER get SD.   
      
   So yes, Steely Dan has gone remarkably unnoticed by masses of ignorant   
   people. I frequently hear, "their music is boring", "aren't they   
   gay?", "oh yeah I love that Steely Dan guy", "oh yeah I hate that   
   Steely Dan guy"... etc.   
      
   I personally feel that Don and Walt are partially responsible for my   
   sharp wit, and ease with words :-)
