From: regenton3.nospam@telenet.be              Hello,              after two months listening to MTC, the CD, I am able to give some comments       now.              I gave scores to all tracks the day after I purchased it ; not at first ,       but at second listening. This one got 7/10 at that moment.       Now I give new scores, without looking at the first score. It's 8.5/10       now.              Specific comments :              *) From the first seconds, my impression was : "waw this is really an SD       song" (which, in fact, it isn't...) . Especially, the flanged Rhodes sound       is so typical...       *) The bass riff is very strong, and consistently repeated or varied during       the song.       *) Excellent vocals during chorus       *) This song, contains almost no syncopes -- remarkable / rare !       *) The guitar solo from 4:06 is very strong, very well building-up however       -) it is spoiled by the background muted trumpet. Personally, I don't like       at all the sound of a muted trumpet. And, it's a pity that the sound is       used in more tracks on the album. Without that trumpet, the song would       definitely deserve a 9/10.              *)The reprise is in fact nothing more than a chorus and a quite solo which,       fortunately, ends without the muted trumpet.       *)The end of the reprise is very very strange, in a key totally different       from the song.       It reminds me of the first notes of "Jerusalem", by Hubert Parry.              Any comments or other ideas on these tracks welcome !! !!       If the idea seems positive, I suggest to discuss track 2 next week.              R-ton       Belgium              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
