From: coolaidcb13@yahoo.com              Ok, so I started this little discussion because I knew that SOME       Steely fans would think anything opposite of Steely Dan must be       garbage. I assumed correctly, no?              Maybe I should have spoken more clearly. By polar opposite, I don't       mean that because we consider Steely Dan to be quality music, the       polar opposite must logically be garbage. I was referring more to the       approach to the recording process, the simplicity of the song       structure itself, the instrumentation, and the stylization of the       music.              There was a method to my madness folks. You see, because I know we're       all Steely Dan fans, I can assume you folks might also like similar       artists. However, I would be surprised to meet a Steely Dan freak in a       mosh pit. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to hear that a good number       of you like Miles Davis... however it would be very       interesting/entertaining to hear from Steely Dan freaks who really dig       hearing a "young aboriginal girl playing (the) didgeridoo".              Until next time, I'll be drunk on swish, eating pizza crusts off the       ground, and dancing with a dirty old dog.              Cedric                     On Sun, 18 Jun 2006 22:36:24 GMT, Drink The Beast With Me        |
