   I haven't been able to stop thinking about that line since you mentioned it.   
   There is more than just a little sarcasm in that line.   
      
   Lest we forget... the lyrics are talking about a successful business man....   
   not an accomplished musician... who has lost all of his precious   
   posessions.... the Audi TT... and the '54 Strat.   
      
   The Stratocaster guitar was invented by Leo Fender in the 1950's and has   
   remained almost unchanged since it's inception. Leo's original design has   
   withstood the test of time and the guitar has become an American Icon - as   
   evidenced by the Aerosmith Rock & Rollercoaster in Disneyworld.   
      
   But many babyboomers... who were successful in business... but never played   
   much more than air guitar in their bedrooms... grew up and became   
   "collectors" of these vintage instruments.... driving the price up well   
   beyond the reach of a "mere player".   
      
   The Stratocaster first came out in 1954... so the "54 Strat" refers to a   
   very fine collectible sought after by a successful babyboomer... not an   
   instrument longed for by an accomplished musician.
