   Thanks for clarifying this. It's given me a whole new grip on the concept of   
   The New Dan. And btw I'm deeply impressed by the way you both avoid being   
   sucked down into that maelstrom of badmouthing that seems to threaten all   
   meaningful communication on groups like this one. Or in any mass medium for   
   that matter. Come to think of it, these days, it is threatening meaningful   
   communication, period.
