   Living in Europe, I've been feeding/easing my Live Dan jones this summer by   
   compiling a double set of live recordings 1993-2006 - under the title of   
   Cash Only Island - one volume of soundboard tracks and the other one   
   consisting of tracks from audience recordings, culled from various cd-r's   
   and mp3's I've collected during the past few years. Just to show the other

   Yeah, I know: Nothing but blues and Elvis and somebody else's favorite song,   
   but hey, I'm not asking anyone to buy it. And seeing the set lists for this   
   year's tour, I'm actually content to have this set instead, although nothing   
   can really beat the energy boost of actually being there, so let's hope our   
   mutual friends will de-Vegas themselves somewhat for the next time around,   
   and start kicking again, as we know they can if they want to - cf. the Don's   
   refreshing kinda Soft Boys-ish take on Western World during the springtime   
   tour.   
      
   Btw. Besides these unofficial live recordings I've been listening almost   
   exclusively to the post-2000 part of the Oevre these days, including Morph,   
   and I'm digging that stuff every bit as much as the old records. So, here's   
   to the New Walter Becker Album, and, come to think of it, Carey the Joni   
   Cover, may they both surface soon to enlighten and confuse us further.   
      
   But now I'm rambling.
