Really, the high feast day, Io Saturnalia! Natalis Solis Invicti,
literally "Birth of the Sun-Invincible", ergo "Birth of the Son-
Invincible", always celebrated either on or within a couple days
(plus or minus) of the actual, astronomical winter solstice, the
day when Apollo begins returning from His winter vacation down
in the eternally-tropical, biospheric land of the hyperboreans.

The winter solstice marks the tropical-cusp of sunlight shining
eternally upon the earth, perpendicular the tropic of Capricorn
(which this year will occur Saturn's Day 22-12-2007 06:07:39 UT).
