      3c1b877d       XPost: alt.religion.asatru, soc.culture.nordic, alt.fan.countries.norway       XPost: alt.fan.countries.sweden, alt.fan.countries.denmark       From: dalton@nfld.com              As I have commented before years ago on some of these groups,       I believe that Odin’s missing or closed eye is new/dark moon,       whereas the open eye is the sun.              Odin is also raven-associated, and I also associate raven with       the new/dark moon, coming up in a little more than 13 hours.              Some may be interested in my thread“Raven’s Blessings”       on alt.native , where I draw a parallel between Haida and       Beothuk mythology.              Other figures that I think are raven-associated are       the Morrigan, maybe Lugh, and maybe Jacob.       Do you know of any others?              I have also previously commented on       “The landlady’s eyes opened wide with delight”       from the song Wild Rover, and speculated that       it refers to the waxing of the moon from new/dark       moon to full moon.
