Apparently. The decipherment of the pre-alphabetic script known as Linear
B was one of the greatest intellectual achievements of the 20th century.
The language that was written in Linear B is usually called Mycenean, an
early form of Greek. Most of the tablets found on Crete and at sites in
Greece (Mycenae, Tiryns, Thebes and Pylos) have been dated to the 13th
century BC. None of them mention Troy or a Trojan War.
