Mediaeval Jewish mysticism. (Does two count as "a few"?) Speculation
within a specific religious tradition certainly, but not a religion
in itself. _QBL_ (_qoph_, _beth_, _lamed_) is a Semitic root meaning
"to receive" (as an oral tradition); it's sometimes used as shorthand
for its derivative _Qabalah_ or _Kabbala_ (&c., cf. the English word
   "cabalistic") -- see answer #1.
