   There are plenty of parts of the world where broadband connections   
   are expensive or hard to acquire. Many readers pay by the minute for   
   dial-up connections. Moreover, even where bandwidth isn't an issue,   
   some prefer to use newsreading software that doesn't handle anything   
   but plain text well. It's no more than simple courtesy to respect the   
   conventions of the medium used to communicate -- and there are plenty   
   of "binaries" groups where 'multimedia' content is welcome.   
      
   Of course Min's ravings are an utter waste of bandwidth however   
   presented, but that's another matter.
