   'Lo PuddinTame --

Dan Min mentioned it, remember? While what you
say about the zodiac is true, the discussion *is* about
constellations, and constellations are common to both
   astrology and astronomy.

A couple more things to mention... the science of
astronomy is very different from the practice of
   astrology.

While history indicates that past astronomers also
practiced astrology, and indeed probably invented
astrology (e.g., Tycho Brahe), modern science has
been aggressively separating itself from mythical
procedures like astrology for many years now.

It's realized that astrology is an extremely popular
practice--that's a personal choice for people to
make--however, those of us who readily respond
to scientific method have chosen to see astrology
as having no part in physical reality.

You asked a question about the myths involving
stars, asterisms and constellations. Such questions
are welcome here because there are regular posters
who are expert in the myths, such as Odysseus. We
might keep in mind that there are still those people
who confuse myth with reality, who think astrology
is the same thing as astronomy. You will never find
astrology being taught as science in any university.
And you'll find lots of colleges which give thorough
treatment to the science of astronomy.

You may have guessed that this subject is almost as
   controversial as evolution vs. religion!

   happy days and...
      starry starry nights!

   --
Oh! Selene! what a beautiful planet!
Such wonders, maria, those craters that span it,
And how 'bout those phases--Full, New, and in Quarter?
Why, if it were possible, I'd LOVE to import her!

Ah! but she's HUGE, a full planet no doubt,
And 'til this is seen we'll continue to SHOUT!
Yea! 'til people make that Moon a king to our queen,
We safeguard the secrets of planet Selene.
