   Mythology by Edith Hamilton briefly talks of the underworld.  Also reference   
   the Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer.  Although the underworld is vaguely   
   described by Homer.  Poems by Virgil also describes myths of the underworld.   
   Maybe have a look at the Egyption Book of the Dead, I haven't read it but it   
   sounds like it could be of interest.  I don't know if this helps, but that's
