THE ANCIENTS SHARED a common understanding of what "soul"
or "psyche", the eternally-aware essence of every choice-
making sentient being, is. While the classic Greco-Roman
mythology, kabbalah, the bible and other sources provide
us with an overall-composite view of who and what Psyche
is, etc., the prevailing consensus contends that we find
the light, even our true nature, by first looking within.

This humble author takes that view, that divine truth is
found first by looking within, to the end that we'll see
beyond ourselves with new eyes: into the eternity of God.

With that concerted refrain in mind...

Basically, there are ten distinct yet inseparable planes,
dimensions or vibrations of Psyche; the Soul of the Gods.

Think of these planes as awarenesses, ineffable environs
of experiences. Think of God's consciousnesses as living,
breathing, thriving, infinite universes of divine energy.

The first nine of Psyche's ten planes are bounded not by
separation but rather by bandwidth, by frequency, by law,
by rules, by angels, by muses, by emphasis, with respect
to her other heavenly planes--including the tenth heaven.

These nine, bounded planes we recognize as our awareness
of their universal qualities-of-consciousness within our
own psyche, and the collective psyche of the whole human
race; even as the other warm-blooded, higher vertebrates
which give live birth, etc., have souls, or make choices.

Whereas, the tenth plane is unbounded, wholly open-ended.
This tenth plane is where the other nine heavens conjoin
or focus their respective modes, or dimensions of energy.

This focus we call the eye of the Sky--our active center
of Psychic activity. The ancient Greeks called her 'Iris',
centered at the 'Phokos' of the eternally-living 'Zodiac'.
But here we're jumping ahead. Let's return to the basics...

   Think of a fully-lit, nine-branched candlestick (menorah,
traditionally lit during the Jewish festival of Hanukah).
Each flame is equally aglow, but each candle has its own
relative place along the golden semicircular candelabrum.

Now, think of all nine distinct but equal flames burning
together as being the tenth flame--as the oneness of all
nine concurrently-lit eternal flames of pure white light.

Each of the nine flames is equal in intensity and purity,
because the white flame is one with each plane of energy
who combine together as the brilliant "I AM"-ness of God.

Each candle is distinct yet each is inseparable from the
others just as the nine-branched candlestick is one with
itself. Nine flames, one focus, one I AM who we call God.

Each candle, each flame, is directly associated with the
planets, which in turn are associated with consciousness.
The following illustration is copied from my 'Apocalypse
Commentary', Chapter 1, simply approximating the ancient
seven-branched menorah. The common nine-branched version
adds the outer planets Uranus and Neptune, but otherwise
   maintains the same principle i.e. seven seven-tone modes;
with the two added outer-planet limbs indicated as shown:

   Similarly...

Think of the white keys on a piano keyboard. Each key is
distinctive and unique in tone, sound and vibration; but
each key is part of its whole octave--relative among its
neighboring keys. Begin playing a scale on any white key,
staying on the white keys, and you're playing a diatonic
modality. Each mode has a particular key as its tonic or
root tone, but all the other neighboring keys are needed
to complete its distinctive seven-tone scale. Eight-tone
scales repeat the root-key one octave above or below its
tonic note; just as any key played above or below repeat
notes played within the seven-tone scale on their octave.

The following, three tables are copied from my 'Compleat
Tarot Manual' Chapter 9, summarizing the scalar relation-
ships between the keys--the flames--of Psychic awareness:
