   Recently, a script from Doug Weller arrived, in which they said:   
      
   : The Egyptians referred to them as Asiatics, so they couldn't have been

   Indeed, I wondered about the geographical oddity too.   
      
   : But they did have an alliance with Nubian Kush, thus squeezing the Thebite   
   : Egyptians at both ends.   
      
   That would probably explain my confusion.   
      
   : They are almost certainly an ethnic mix and some of their names resemble   
   : Canaanite names and they could draw support from Canaan. Some would call   
   : them Phoenicians. We will probably never know exactly who they are.
