Why do we need bad guys?
The example of overcoming problems by peaceful means seems to not even have
   been thought of.
Surely the people who are the bad guys in real life have their issues which
caused them to make poor decisions for survival in a world gone wrong for
   them.
If perhaps we thought kindly in the general population, then we might
encourage the poor underprivledged which turned to crime to better
themselves. But we would have to know how to do that, it is so much easier
to blame them and punish them for the act of fate which befell them.

Sending a General to get peace is bound to start in violence.
Sending a philosopher at least will start with good will and kind words and
   some understanding.
If the diplomat is not a philosopher, then he has the General as a backup
   plan and a threat.

We feed ourselves movies and TV with violence, abuse and drugs.
The hero is usually the outcast reject who makes up his own rules and has
   just a little of integrity.
It's steretype is it's kool to be the rebel hero and to act out with violent
   means to solve problems.

Lets still realize that free speech, will still get your a punch if the
mouth if you dont use wisdom and grace.
