To deny it is a time bomb.                     All I know is, Gibson seems like a more or less decent human       being. I agree, everyone has issues of one kind or another. His       father is vary critical of Jews, and it's not to be believed that       Mel could have completely escaped being affected by that       influence, but that doesn't mean he became anti-Semitic, since he       may have rebelled against his father's example and gone the other way.              As for what he said when he was drunk -- drunks say all kinds of       crazy things they are later embarrassed about. Some drunks are       like split-personalities, one person when drunk and a completely       different person when sober.
