   I agree with that sentiment.    
      
   A day or so ago I read an article about how Black and Hispanic populations in   
   the U.S. are under-represented in law enforcement jobs. The Asian population   
   might have been mentioned in a statistic, but there was really no significant   
   mention of Native    
   Americans. What i see in mainstream news, regarding native people, usually   
   involves sports mascots. I know there are other, more pressing, issues - but i   
   don't hear about them from media unless i actively pursue it. For instance, i   
   know there are    
   increasing problems with gangs on the rez, but... it hasn't been been worthy   
   of 'headlines' - even though it seems as if gang activity on reservations (and   
   other rural areas) is patterned after gang activity in urban areas.

   Generally, when people are too busy hating and destroying, there's not a lot   
   of energy left for loving and creating. It's an individual choice, and people   
   just have to decide for themselves which way they're going to go.
