From: oldwifetale@yahoo.com                      > "The American Indians were Communists. They were. Every anthropologist will       tell you they were Communists. No rich, no poor. If somebody needed something       the community chipped in." --Pete Seeger               > "The way to kill a man or a nation is to cut off his dreams, the way the       whites are taking care of the Indians: killing their dreams, their magic,       their familiar spirits." --William S. Burroughs              Yep, those two statements.               It seems this is what some people must believe:               Communist nations are known for their religious and spiritual tolerance.       Christianity has always been part and parcel of Soviet societies. No one ever       had to hide their bibles or be persecuted for their beliefs. In addition,       Communist nations are open to        all ancient indigenous rituals, ceremonies and observances so long as they       don't do hurt anyone (against their will). Just ask the Falun Gong members,       they'll tell you. But hey, free meals at the labor camps. Yay!              From what *i've* heard from "real NATIVES", they were never Communists. I       can't see why anyone would embrace Communism when it does *exactly* what       William S. Burroughs describes.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
