|    Why were Crow Indians apparently well ha    |

From: zendorian9@gmail.com              Hello:              My research indicates that the Crow Indians were not very well liked amongst       the native American groups of the US Northern Plains. I referred to one battle       in which they faced a massacre by the Blackfeet in a area known as Cypress       Hills, Canada. They        also faced another battle / potential massacre at Pryor Creek in 1861 in       Montana. It seems as if the Crow responded by closely allying with the US       cavalry, assisting them in going after their tribal rivals. It has been said       that the reason why Crook's        column in the Sioux War of 1876 did not end up in another Little Bighorn type       of massacre was due to the fighting motivation of his allied Crow (and       Shoshni) contingents...the question is, why were the Crows apparently so hated       by their neighboring        Plains Indian tribes?              Just a heads up, please do not let this lead to personal acrimony based       historical grudges. Thanks.              Brian Ghilliotti              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
