3fc0f86e       552acebf       XPost: nz.soc.maori, soc.culture.native, alt.religion.shamanism       XPost: alt.music.s-mclachlan       From: dalton@nfld.com              What’s the connection with New Zealand?              Well, I claim to have a region extending from 12 km below the       geoid to 255,000 km above the geoid, partly based on the       distance from here in St. John’s, Newfoundland to       Vancouver, British Columbia where I spent ten years       in The Department of Geophysics and Astronomy at UBC,       partly based on the extent of the Internet, and partly       based on the travels of my main human inspirer, Sarah       McLachlan, including the following incident:              On the night of January 29, 1995, I think the night before       new moon, I was in Vancouver and Sarah and her       friend Crystal Heald, who I had never seen, were on       holiday in New Zealand. I fantasized about both of them       while listening to the version of Sarah’s song Mary that       is on her CD The Freedom Sessions (the usual version       is on Fumbling Towards Ecstasy) after forming a       letter S out of houseplants, candles, and special objects.       I achieved my peak ever orgasm, a factor 100, which       was a whole body and brain radiative Kundalini wave       orgasm that lasted a while. (10=excellent).              And from my past writing, I see that the night of       March 15/16, 1995, I woke up sensing a great       wave of energy coming from I thought the       southwest and guessed Hawaii, or Phoenix Islands,       or New Zealand, or the middle of El Nino. But       now I think it came from Sarah in Kerrisdale,       when I was in Kitsilano at the time (both are       regions in Vancouver). But that would have       been from the southeast.              You might also be interested in the thread       "Neil Young -- Like a Hurricane"       on alt.native , in which I speculate that Sarah may       have a Beothuk maternal line through her birth       mother, who I think is originally from Howley on       the west coast of Newfoundland. I doubt that       I have any native blood but when I was on       the thorns I said “let this atone for the deaths       of the Beothuk people”. But i don’t plan to       indulge in any cultural appropriation but       instead after I come out of the low years will       investigate druidism, traditional witchcraft, and       celtic shamanism. Also I use the term       species someone instead of totemic spirit       and SSOSOSS (species someone of other species       of significant sign) instead of power animal. And       I use the term sun stare for my sun stare instead       of calling it a sun dance (though I think the Lakota       may call it a sun gazing dance). And I will not       start a religion or join one.              Also in September 1985, when I was newly arrived in       Vancouver, I got lost and wandered to the edge of       the Musqueam reserve and saw the no trespassing       sign and turned around, but also saw the white clapboard       houses that reminded me of home in outport       Newfoundland. From then on I knew I was on stolen       land and that I think contributed to my long mild       depression of 1986, when there was a gathering       of people from around the world at Expo 86. It       was also during a low of the sunspot cycle, which       we are in again, so I don’t expect to come out of       the low years this week but hope that I will.              Anyway, it seems that even if I am an avatar type I       am helpless without the blessing of the devi type.              Good night/morning (4:42 a.m. Sept. 14, 2018 here).              --       David Dalton dalton@nfld.com http://www.nfld.com/~dalton (home page)       http://www.nfld.com/~dalton/dtales.html Salmon on the Thorns (mystic page)       “Coming into season this world will flower       With the power of love, not the love of power" (Mae Moore)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
