This is not what I use to call Lactarius deliciosus, but the american
authors Hesler & Smith have reduced several other species to varieties
of L. deliciosus. Among them is also the european L. deterrimus, which
   it resembles more.
The character with direct green colouring when it's bruised, fits
another variety that grows in the Pacific Northwest -
   Lactarius deliciosus var. olivaceosordidus.
