   As you said - close, but maybe not close enough. I'd go for "Inocybe   
   cf grammata".

   Here we have a long winter ahead - which started about a month ago, so   
   it would be nice to watch your pictures, once you find time to upload   
   them... I can't hope to be able to identify much of it, though.   
   I beleive most of the californian species are different from the   
   european ones.
