I was introduced to xeramplina last year at a mushroom show at the
local community college. Shortly thereafter I started picking and
consuming it. It is quite good.

However, there seems to be quite a bit of overlap in the redcapped
russula. I was told that one way to identify xeramplina was the blush
on the stipe but I've found some with nearly a red stipe the blush was
so prominent and others with just the slightest hint. I've also seen
pictures on the web of olivacea with a red cap and pink stipe.

To summarize I'm quite sure I've eaten sanguinea and maybe olivacea
   without ill effects.

What other russula are folks eating?
