   A biotech company in the San Francisco Bay area, Vector labs, needs orange   
   peel fungus, Aleuria aurantia, to isolate a compound used in medical research.   
   The compound, a lectin, is in a class of proteins that selectively bind sugar   
   molecules. Their uses vary from blood typing to the study of cell membranes.

   Fresh or frozen specimens are desired. The company is paying  $30/pound   
   (fresh/frozen) for the material. Aleuria aurantia is a brightly color fairly   
   large cup fungus and is sometimes abundant along dirt roads and similar
