   There is not a spot on earth 'free of chemicals'. Native people in the polar   
   regions are suffering from chemicals used a thousand miles away. (end up in   
   fat at the top of the food chain)   
   You do show good sense to be aware of recently applied chemicals. If the   
   chemical is harmful the area was by law in most states to be posted with a   
   warning.   
   Most all the food we buy would have had chemical exposure as great or   
   greater than a mushroom picked from a 'sprayed' lawn.
