   Oysters have a lot of close look-alikes. It's my favorite mushroom to gather   
   and I love to eat them.   
   The best ones around here are on elm wood. Those big fallen elm trees will   
   produce flushes of oysters for several years.   
   When  an oyster that looks exactly like the good ones grows on a tree we   
   call a 'box-elder' (poor cousin of a maple) it is horrible tasting and   
   usually extra 'moldy' looking.
