From: gunilla.fagerholm@_NO_JUNK_telia.com              Thanks to all of you for helping me with answers.              Please continue telling me all you know about why pleurotus is good       for the health. Since i myself have no medical training it is a little       confusing with the medical vocabulary but i will do my best in trying       to understand                     I will now give you the reason why i need this info.              Some years ago we started a mushroom growing project in an African       village. The rurals learnt how to grow pleurotus in a simple way. For       different reason we had to leave and the project died. Now they want       to restart growing and we want to help them find a market for their       dried mushrooms. (Of course we also want the growers themselves to eat       them).       We think it would be wonderful if we could persuade the schools, the       hospitals and the orphanages to buy their dried pleurotus ostreatus       and serve it mixed in the normal traditional food.              35% of the villagers have hiv. There is of course also malaria,       water-borne diseases, hunger etc. They really need to eat more       nutritious food but we must find a way, without lying, to tell them       why these mushrooms. (There is an old tradition of eating mushrooms       since there is a rainforest nearby. Agaricus also grow wild in the       villages during the rainy season).              So that is the story. If we can make them understand that the mushroom       is good for them then the individual growers might find a market so       that they can get enough money to pay the school fees for at least one       of his children.              Hope to hear from you       Gunilla Fagerhholm              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
