From: gunilla.fagerholm@_NO_JUNK_telia.com              Hi there.       Can anyone give me suggestions how to avoid these uuuugly animals       eating mushrooms?       Slughunting with a torch at night has been tried.       Trying to get them drunk on beer has been tried.       Electrical fence operated on 2 9-volt batteries did not work              Am trying to suggest solutions for my African friends who are going to       have outdoor oyster mushroom bags.              It must be cheap since I am talking about rural areas.              We had a constant fight with the slugs while we were cultivating       mushrooms in Africa.              Now i remember that we also had to fight small mosquitos (like banana       flies). We tried decoctions of chrysantemum flowers, teas, planting       tagetes flowers etc. Some strains of pleurotus o. seemed to be more       desirable for the insects than others.              Any suggestions are welcome - i am sure i will get very strange       answers from some of you people - so just go ahead.       Gunilla              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
