   Here is a strange answer.   
   Late in the summer season in northern MN oysters have more insects. But if   
   they are harvested promptly (trading maximum yield for quality) it only   
   takes a brief saline soak to clean them.   
   Dry a buggy mushroom and you won't notice bugs.   
      
   But this is N MN and not africa.   
   I've found pholiotas that are so infested (usually that is the case) with   
   insects that your stomach turns.
