   Hi Kurt,
I must say your name sounds very Swedish!

Does not the saline soak leave any salty taste on the mushrooms?

We had our dried oysters checked in a big company´s laboratory while
in Africa and as we understood it they checked especially for bugs.

When we were away for some time from our home, our staff were
negligent about sorting the fresh mushrooms, taking away the
bug-infested ones, before drying them. When we were back and i checked
the dried mushrooms it was quite evident (visible) which one had been
bug-infested and which ones not. What i mean is that if you want to
export or sell the dried ones, you must make sure that they are of
   good quality.

I on the other hand would not mind to eat a few bugs.

PS. I do not know what -pholiatas is but it surely turns my stomach
   thinking about too many bugs.
