   Jill, this wasn't intended as a snotty remark. I make such remarks   
   sparingly and only because I feel that I do good. I feel offended when   
   people know better, but don't tell me the truth, thus prolonging my

   Jill, I think that this one is a Pluteus of some kind. The lignicolous   
   habit strongly suggests that. I am not sure that I see a volva   
   either. All in all, it could be anything, but I do not think that   
   there is enough evidence to suggest Volvariella.
