   The reason for not eating them is that they are too easy to confuse with   
   Chlorophyllum molybdites which are poisonous.   
   Also geoghraphic location......for instance, the 'same' parosol can be   
   choice in Europe and not good in North America.   
   You need to be a little advanced (like you are Fred, and I say that   
   sincerely) to ID parosols and enjoy what can be a choice edible.   
   I have seen them here only twice. Last year being the first time , and again   
   this year in the same spot. As I mentioned they were 'past' edible both   
   times.......Maybe next year.
