    I would hesitate to use black plastic because I think it would tend to be a   
   humidity trap allowing competetive green molds a better chance at taking   
   hold. The landscape cloth I use is black pressed random fiber and allows   
   moisture to travel both ways....   
   But thanks for the idea about drawing heat because I have been concerned   
   about a successful launch at this time of year...
