From: riburr@shentel.net              This is as large a cluster of this mushroom I've ever seen, and this was       after harvesting some individuals for breakfast. I cleared some leaf       litter for the picture and found the snail, and decided to put him on       stage. After slicing thin, I sauteed the mushrooms in a little butter       and a tablespoon's worth of diced onion, then scrambled into some eggs.              I have a thought to pick some more and cook them with noodles and white       sauce.              Young specimens aren't bad. They have a definite flavor that includes       only a trace of bitterness, as with a lot of mushrooms. But, they don't       rate gourmet. Some compare them to oyster mushrooms. I usually get a       lot of them in the yard in spring. We got over an inch of rain       yesterday, which coaxed 'em out; See:       http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=504835542&size=l                     --       ...Life is just a game,       Fly your paper plane,       There is no end...              -Thunderclap Newman              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
