   Well, at least here in Europe, I would not go so far. I ate C. violaceus, C.   
   odorifer and a 2 or 3 others. I really like C. odorifer and I prefer it to   
   many boletes.   
      
   I would suggest, that it is generally unwise to eat any mushroom one isn't   
   able to identify 100%. If you're expert enough to identify the more obscure   
   (with regards to edibility) mushrooms, there are some pleasant surprises in   
   store. There are even people who tried out some Inocybe mushrooms - i.e. I.   
   adaequata. And there are others, who can't even see the difference between a   
   gilled mushroom and a bolete :-)
