Very       exciting. Am eagerly awaiting a strong showing of appreciation by the       mushrooms (Maitake, Hericium, Lepista, Laccaria, etc.) The       Purple-gilled Laccaria is supposed to be mediocre as far as edibles go.              I haven't tried it, yet, wanting first to make sure I learn to       distinguish it *on sight* from purple Corts. I'm confident I can make       the (easy) distinction. If the Laccaria can't be suited to a tasty       recipe, I'll pickle it. It sometimes shows up in great numbers. It'd       be nice if it maintains its purple color in a recipe, or after pickling.              It is bow season in the National Forest. This is not much of a worry.       The incidence of accidentally getting shot by an arrow is much less than       absorbing a bullet during rifle season.                     --       I can tell your future just look what's in your hand...              - Robert Hunter              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
