There was a       burst of Calvatia fruiting in August, following the only rain we had all       summer. But, I was out of town, and by the time I came back the       puffballs were loosing their firmness. : ( All September and most of       October was bone dry. After the rains last week, the weather has again       gone dry. There hasn't been a cloud in the sky for two days.              Yeah, the Lycoperdons don't have much to offer. But, I'm getting       desperate. We had a freeze last night. *Maybe* I can find some blewits       in the coming weeks. It'd be nice to end the season on a tasty note.                     --       I can tell your future just look what's in your hand...              - Robert Hunter              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
