   I find cauliflower mushroom  very good chopped up   
   and fried with scrambled eggs.   
   With regard to cleaning the best thing to do is only   
   harvest the clean bits. Your 8lb specimen will   
   probably only yield, say, 6lbs, but the reduction   
   in stress is amazing.
