Been more than a       little busy with work and doing chores around the house.              Mushrooming is tied for 1st among several of my favorite hobbies,       including kayaking on the local rivers which I haven't had the time to       do yet this year. I know I could pick bagfuls of Polyporus squamous       right now by trolling the riverbanks in the kayak. I've pickled it       before, but it became rather soft and mushy. Next, I will try poaching       and marinating to try to preserve some of the texture.              I believe a "best method" exists for preparing any edible mushroom. I       think P. squamous has great potential, but I'm still trying different       methods....                     --       I can tell your future just look what's in your hand...              - Robert Hunter              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
