Have you all been poisoned?              The region where I live received over 3' of snow over the winter. I was       gearing up for a fruitful spring. Then, things dried out. Found       nothing worth taking home on a couple of quick forays into the nearby       woods. The neighbors have found a few morels, some embarrassingly       small. (I wouldn't have picked them).              I made a surprisingly tasty batch of kimchi, which included some wild       garlic (Allium vineale) pulled from the backyard. I'm hoping to include       some wild mushrooms that are safe raw, e.g. Auricularia auricula, when I       find it. I have *no* idea how this mushroom will weather lactic       fermentation. But, pickled tree-ear fungus has a good ring to it.              --       Mushroom blog:       http://ftvmushrooms.blogspot.com              The adpReview blog is being revised.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
