I find A. mellea and A. tabescens very frequently       in abundance. The oak forest where I live hosts both. I'm really very       fond of it, and usually cook it thoroughly. Before that one one adverse       reaction I thought it was fully cooked on the barbecue grill , but I had       a forethought about consuming all the juice collected by the foil. The       aftereffects weren't devastating, just something to take note of.              I've eaten Gymnopilus raw in rather large amounts (strongly bitter).       Resulted in quite a bit of regurgitation/purging, but no diarrhea. My       mind was turned to mush for several hours. The strong intoxicating       effects were sought after so I don't consider it poisoning, even as the       effects ranged from extremely uncomfortable to ecstatic cosmic journeying.              --       Mushroom blog:       http://ftvmushrooms.blogspot.com              The adpReview blog is being revised.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
