   Still haven't found any morels, and the season is running out.  I did   
   find some pretty little brown mushrooms in the front yard.  My guess is   
   they are Collybia alkalivirens based on color and early appearance.  I'm   
   doing a spore print.  Am trying to get some KOH from the potash in the   
   woodstove.  As its name implies, this mushroom is supposed to turn green   
   with KOH.  Haven't noticed them in the yard before; See:

   As for morels, I've been scouting the lowlands bordering the main stream   
   draining our valley.  Some nice tulip poplars, but no morels; See:
