From: riburr@shentel.net              Was headed to the creek flowing through our valley, when I came upon a       killer edge. The drop off from the top of the cliff down to the flood       plane was dangerous, almost nonnegotiable without climbing gear. These       pines were huge, growing on the cliff edge. Picture doesn't do justice:       http://www.flickr.com/photos/63108152@N00/5751970383/sizes/m/              So, I make my way along the descending cliff edge until I make it to the       creek, and find these:       http://www.flickr.com/photos/63108152@N00/5752515330/sizes/m/              http://www.flickr.com/photos/63108152@N00/5751969959/sizes/m/                     Obviously growing on wood. I harvested one to bring home for a spore       print (black). I lost part of the cap hiking back through the woods.       The gills are free. Largest cap was > 2" diameter. Very beautiful       mushroom. Any ideas?                                                 --       Mushroom blog:       http://ftvmushrooms.blogspot.com              Ruralpsychedelia blog:       http://ruralpsychedelia.blogspot.com              Obama is Borg              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
