   Found a nice Laetiporus sulphureus growing top-dead center of an oak   
   stump in the front yard.  The entire mushroom was soft and moist, and   
   suitable for eating.  Harvested mushroom weighed 14 oz., and with a   
   sliced medium onion filled a quart canning jar perfectly after pickling.   
     The beautiful vivid yellow pore surface paled considerable with pickling.

   Yes, I should replace the rusty lid, but I didn't have any good lids   
   available.  I forecast the mushrooms will be consumed in short order.
