In my area of the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia (about the same
latitude as Washington D.C., but considerably west) the chanterelles
were plentiful in early summer (the usual time for them), and boletes
have been plentiful. Currently, things are starting to dry out.
Praying for some hurricane remnants to get the autumn season hoppin'.

Where I had cleared and burned some small areas in my yard last fall the
mushrooms (especially chanterelles) were very plentiful. I guess they
were much easier to see on the ground cleared of leaves and duff.
